Quick answer: Confirm the actual seat and restraint combination before booking. A spacious cabin does not establish that a child restraint fits safely.

Include every child in the trip brief.

Plan a private jet flight with children and infants.

01

Include every child in the trip brief

Tell the charter team the number and ages of children, and the seating and support you need. Discuss the actual cabin plan before accepting an aircraft. Plan adjacent adult seating and check whether a substitution would change the arrangement.

02

Confirm an approved restraint and compatible seat

The FAA recommends an approved child restraint in the child’s own seat, including for children under two. Check device approval, child size limits, aircraft-seat compatibility and installation instructions with the operator. A carrier or ordinary booster is not a substitute for an approved flight restraint.

03

Plan the practical parts of family travel

Confirm stroller dimensions, baggage space, food, allergies and changing arrangements. Ask what can be kept within reach in approved storage. Allow time for boarding and installing a restraint without rushing; follow the crew’s instructions throughout the flight.

04

Check documents for international journeys

Each child’s required passport and entry documents should be checked for the route. Consent or custody documents may be required in some circumstances. Confirm destination and transit requirements rather than relying on a single universal consent-letter rule.
